    August 2017 iSchool Adjunct Get Together

    The August 2017 iSchool Adjunct Get Together will occur on Wednesday, August 9th, 2017. The session will take place in the Skytop Office Building, room SK30 Conference Room on the 2nd floor, from 5:30 – 7:30 pm. This session is open to all iSchool graduate and undergraduate adjunct faculty members. If you are unable to attend physically, this session will also be hosted virtually via Adobe Connect (the Adobe Connect URL will be sent out a couple of days before the session begins).

    The agenda will be as follows:

    5:30 pmFormal start of event. Introductions of Senior Adjunct Instructors
    5:30 pm to 6:00 pmDinner and Networking
    6:00 pm to 6:45 pmPeer to peer stories: what’s worked and hasn’t worked, experiences and strategies from senior adjuncts.

    +Device Use Policies in the Classroom
    +Engaging Students Mid Session
    +Differences Among International Students (Academic Integrity, Class Participation, Cultural Customs, Gender)

    7:15 pm – 7:30 pmEvent evaluations and wrap-up

    iSchool Faculty and Staff August 2017 Get Together

    Please join the Faculty Center for Teaching and Learning for an iSchool Faculty and Staff Get Together on Wednesday, August 23 from 6:00 – 8:00 pm. The event agenda is below and dinner will be provided.


    6:00 – 6:30 Formal start of event. Welcome to the Instructor Get-Together, introductions of staff, small list of FCTL announcements, and welcome from Dean, Liz Liddy and Art Thomas, Associate Dean for Academic Affairs. Dinner will also be served during this time.

    6:15 – 6:30 James Powell, Instructional Technology Analyst will introduce changes to the classroom technology and ITS announcements for Fall

    6:30 – 7:30 Find your classroom/computer lab. An instructor or staff member familiar with the room’s technology and setup will be stationed there. Hear from them about using the technology and tips for effective teaching. Instructors are welcome to stay in the rooms and share their experiences with each other.

    7:00 Wine and cheese will be available

    7:45 – 8:00 Event evaluations and wrap-up
